Sharon has added two new Irish dates to her Dream of You tour this summer.
Lughnasa Festival – 31st July
RTÉ will be celebrating the ancient festival of Lughnasa on Sunday July 31st with a special live broadcast from Craggaunowen in Co Clare. The show will be a combination of chat, music and food where well-known celebrities will celebrate the ancient festival of Lughnasa and reconnect the audience with what was traditionally one of the most important dates in the Irish calendar.
The live show will be informative and entertaining, broadcast from an Iron Age fort, with a live audience of 200.
Presented by Grainne Seioge the programme will see guests John Creedon, Mary McEvoy, Sinead Kennedy, Colm Hayes and Paul Flynn on a mission to find out more on a different aspect of Lughnas folklore. Chef Paul Flynn will cook food from that period for the audience and Moya Brennan and Sharon Corr will perform live music.
Sharon has also been added to the line up of the Electric Picnic festival. She will take to the stage on the 2nd of September. More information will on this site soon!
The Blossom Hill Ladies’ Day 2011 will take place at the Discover Ireland Dublin Horse Show, on Thursday, August 4th. The Best Dressed Lady will win an incredible prize worth up to €10,000. Plus, there will be prizes for highly commended outfits and specialist categories such as ‘Most Creative Hat’ and ‘Best Dressed Male’.
Sharon will be a judge on the day with Brendan Courtney. Get your best hats ready!
To coincide with the start of her summer Dream of You Tour Sharon will be releasing a special version of her debut album on July 25th.
Sharon is delighted to announce the exclusive addition of brand new recording and fan favourite ‘Over It’ as the bonus track on the digital release of ‘Dream of You’.
‘Over It’ is a track that constantly appears in Sharon’s live sets and has beyond doubt struck a chord with her audiences. A standout track in a world of overproduced sounds, the down to earth lyrics and Sharon’s trademark violin have truly resonated amongst her fans.
Sharon will take her signature brand of harmonious pop on the road during August and September.
